Nā ʻEhukai O Waiālua--the seasprays of Waiālua, invokes the famous ʻehukai that envelops the entire moku during the winter. Think metaphorically and literally, the name connects the kai, the fishery of Waialua and the various wahi pana in Waialua that we will be visiting and learning about. This also connects with parts of Mālama Loko eaʻs Oli Kāhea, "Hohola ʻia mai ke kōpili i ke ehukai o Puaʻena - The kōpili (thin transparent kapa) is spread upon/by the sea sprays of Puaʻena (Waialua)."
Nā Kilo Iʻa participants and their ʻohana are priority participants for the Nā ʻEhukai O Waialua Huakaʻi.
Join MLEF staff and friends to learn more about the beautiful abundance of Waialua through carefully selected huakaʻi to wahi pana. Dates and more info TBD.
