Loko ea Community Workday

Join us and help us restore Loko ea! Loko ea is a wonderful place to learn and experience culture and nature.  We encourage parents to bring their keiki during our lā hana to explore and have fun.

A few reminders:

• Please wear ʻāina clothes–clothes you donʻt mind getting wet and dirty. You may also want to bring a towel or change of clothes.

• Please bring a refillable water bottle, we will have ice water for you to refill with.

• It can get pretty hot here in Kawailoa, please remember to have sun protection if needed - hat, sunblock, etc.

• We are experiencing rain showers this season, if you would like to stay dry in unexpected rain you are welcome to bring a light rain jacket. 

• Covered toe shoes are preferred, but they may get wet if you are working in or near the water, otherwise slippers are fine if using our tabis.

• We do have tabis and gloves for you to borrow if you do not have your own.

• Lunch will be provided after the work day, please indicate if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. 

• We encourage everyone to bring their own mess kit or containers to eat with, but we will have some on site for you to borrow if needed.

  
  

If there is thunder/lightning, tsunami or hurricane warning, or if weather conditions worsen and we determine it is necessary to cancel the workday for the safety of our staff and volunteers, we will notify everyone via email. Otherwise, we will enjoy the day no matter the weather!
