Connecting the land and community through songs, musicians, and the stories that they carry

Mele & Moʻōlelo is a storytelling music series featuring musicians and storytellers in our community and beyond to share in ancestral knowledge and the ʻāina that has influenced the direction of their moʻōlelo. These stories provide windows into pieces of history which breathes that EA back into this ʻāina. Then continuing to flow through us from the passion of musicianship and richness of the local families connection to their ʻāina momona. This is an effort to create new and exciting ways for education, collaboration, and outreach to touch the lives of more individuals throughout the paeʻāina.

Our very first evening Mele and Moʻōlelo was a beautiful moonlit night with a peaceful backdrop of Loko ea, full of stories and song of the ʻāina around us.

Details for our Event

Parking
Our event will be hosted on the far side of our fishpond along Loko Ea Place. (see map to the left for directions to our gate), please follow the red car and route on the map to our event site. An attendant will receive you at the gate and direct you to our parking areas.

​ If you are kupuna and/or bringing kupuna who need access to closer parking, please let our attendant know and they will send you to our designated kupuna parking area. All general parking will be directed by our parking attendants and is first come first serve. 

Registration & Waiver
Mahalo for registering online. In the event that other ʻohana or friends would like to attend and have not registered, we will be accepting walk-ins the day of the event. After parking, please visit our check-in table to confirm your attendance.

Suggested Things to Bring:
This event will be a picnic style setting, with space to lay out blankets/mats. Picnic tables will also be available for seating if you prefer table space. We will have folding chairs should you need back support, however you may bring your own chair as well.

​For food and drinks, you are welcome to bring any food for yourself and your ʻohana to eat during the event. If you would like to further support our organization, we will be providing bowls of lūʻau stew or portuguese bean soup with rice for a humble donation of $10.00 per bowl. Jugs of iced water will be provided for you to refill your own water bottles, and you may bring any non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy. As a quick breakdown, here is a list of what you could bring: Blanket/mat for grass seating Chair(s) Personal food for yourself and ʻohana Bowls of lūʻau stew and portuguese bean soup with rice for humble donation of $10.00 per bowl Water bottle to refill

Merchandise & Raffle
We will be selling Loko ea merch and raffle tickets throughout the event, so bring cash and/or card if you would like to get new gear and jump into our raffle giveaways.
